Alexis Degrenier vive e lavora vicino a Clermont-Ferrand.
Dopo aver studiato percussioni classiche e composizione, ha deciso di seguire percorsi tanto vasti quanto remoti, invocando la musica di G. Ligeti, i sistemi metrici del Maqam e della musica mediorientale, così come le pulsazioni della meccanica quotidiana, e la musica della Francia centrale attraverso lo studio dell'ascolto obliquo degli spazi sonori.
Tra le sue ispirazioni ci sono soprattutto la letteratura e la filosofia, evidenti nella scelta del titolo del suo nuovo album La mort aura tes yeux.
Impara tanto dalle tradizioni orali quanto dalla musica scritta nella sua pratica strumentale e decide di integrare queste forme nel suo assolo per percussioni e oggetti “Mouvements fantômes, membres miroirs”, dove il ritmo è trasformato in periodi di tempo e diventa pulsazione (in)esaurita, un assolo che si sposta in base agli spazi e alle possibilità.
Oggi collabora con La Tène, il progetto “In C” di La Nòvia; si è esibito con il gruppo Tanz Mein Herz, l'ensemble Minisym, l'insub. Meta Orchestra, il trio di percussioni Cerbère.
È co-compositore di OutreNoir (con Golem Mécanique) e produce le colonne sonore dei film di Rose Lowder; ha composto inoltre la musica per il pezzo di danza “A l'Ouest” della coreografa Olivia Grandville.
Dal 2022 è docente di musica presso l'ESACM (Scuola d'Arte di Clermont-Ferrand-FR).

Alexis Degrenier lives and works near Clermont-Ferrand.
After studying classical percussion and composition, he decided to follow paths as vast as they are remote, invoking the music of G. Ligeti, the metric systems of the Maqam and Middle Eastern music, as well as the pulsations of everyday mechanics, and the music of Central France through the study of the oblique listening of sound spaces.
Among his inspirations are literature and philosophy, evident in the choice of the title of his new album La mort aura tes yeux.
Thus he learns as much from oral traditions as from the written music in his instrumental practice and decides to integrate these forms in his solo for percussion and objects ‘Mouvements fantômes, membres miroirs’, where time is transformed into periods of time to become an (in)exhausted pulse, a solo shifting according to spaces and possibilities.
Today he collaborates with La Tène, La Nòvia‘s “In C” project, and has performed with the group Tanz Mein Herz, the ensemble Minisym, l’insub. Meta Orchestra, the percussion trio Cerbère, co-composes OutreNoir (with Golem Mécanique) and produces the soundtrack for Rose Lowder‘s films, while composing the music for the dance piece “A l’Ouest” by the choreographer Olivia Grandville.
Since 2022, he has been a lecturer in music at the ESACM (Art School of Clermont-Ferrand-FR).
